Do you eat lunch with your laptop? Do you find yourself in back-to-back meetings and you can’t wait for a call to end because you really need to go pee? Or do you find yourself exhausted at the end of the day because now you’re supposed to make dinner?
Sorry if I’m triggering you when asking these questions, and I am not here to call you out! I’m just here to call you in for a deep conversation about the words work-life balance.
Because here’s the thing: work-life balance is a lie.
This week on Color Your Dreams, I sit down with the incredible Natalie Kuhn to unravel the myth of work-life balance and get into the nitty-gritty – from being a woman in the modern world, navigating grief, to how our upbringing molds our lives.
Natalie is Co-CEO and a founding Teacher of The Class, a global digital wellness company whose signature method combines fitness and mindfulness in order to strengthen the body, become aware of the mind, and create a deeper connection to self.
Her upbringing by an ex-nun and a doctor helped her find ways to use the physical body to access her mind and live more freely in the body.
As the first employee of The Class, she has helped grow the method and the business from a two-woman team operating out of the founder’s apartment to what it is today, with studios in New York and Los Angeles, and a digital platform offering mindfulness practices to students in 71 countries across the globe.
What We Cover in This Episode:
- Why boundaries are crucial if you want to have more balance in your life
- The symphony or killer Beyonce song of our lives
- Embracing different seasons of our lives as opportunities to grow

- The questions you should ask yourself regarding boundaries
- Why we have to get good at tolerating our humanness
- The relationship between awareness and fear
- An awareness practice that you can use to break free when you’re lost in your mind
I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Natalie and found some inspiration for setting boundaries in your life and work so that you can fully embrace what makes you human.
