Hello Job Seekers: As a fellow women of color, I love giving back to our community by providing a complimentary 30 minute career coaching session. During this session, we will identify your career goals, what’s working for you now, what’s not working for you and what you want to gain.

We work with emerging leaders, managers, working parents and C-Suite Executives for mission-driven organizations to ensure they are creating a career that aligns with the lifestyle they want to create.

The three values we focus on when it comes to your career and life is helping you create legacy, leadership and the lifestyle you deserve.

Legacy

We want to honor the family sacrifices made before us and affirm a new legacy built on different choices by creating the career and life we desire. To truly be successful, we make sure this is foundational to the career focus before we move forward.

Leadership

In everything we do, we see the opportunity to lead our clients more to themselves so they can create empowering spaces in their jobs and lives that will result in more inclusion and wealth building for their own families.

Lifestyle

As we help our clients build businesses that propel their legacy forward, we focus on how their career can support a life that nurtures them and creates space for wealth in time, love, and self.

Why you should work with a woman of color / people of color business coach?

As a fellow POC, you don’t need to explain why you think or feel certain ways because of your cultural upbringing. I completely understand the imposter syndrome and disappointing our family when going after our dreams.

We were raised to go after the secure and safe job, but I’m here to challenge you that you can have a fulfilling career that does provide security, safety and the life you’ve always wanted.

How am I different from other career coaches? I’ve gone through what you’ve gone through:

I use to be bullied at work, and learned how to stand up for myself

I was also the go-to-person for office gossip and complaints, and I learned how to create strong boundaries.

I was frustrated with not making my worth, and too scared to ask for a raise. I also sought help through my own career coach, and asked for a $12k raise and successfully got it!

I had to be honest with myself and realize I no longer loved the industry I spent five years in. I was completely burnt out and no longer in love with my job and industry. As a result, I mapped out a successful job search and found a new industry and job making $26k more as a nonprofit fundraiser where I raised millions for college students. Not only did I get a raise, I worked with an incredible mentor, colleagues and got the work-life balance AND career success I’ve always wanted.

I was intimidated being the youngest manager at an organization, I wanted to ensure I was going to gain respect from my peers so I learned how to be assertive and well-respected at meetings.

Wondering what my street cred is? I have a Masters of Science in Leadership and Management, and I am Trauma Informed.

Why do you want to work with a Career Coach?

After living through multiple years of a pandemic, everyone is starting to be aware of what they actually want in their career that is beyond a paycheck.

According to Harvard Business Review, 47 Million Americans quit their jobs in 2021.

We’ve been stuck in home asking ourselves hard questions to ensure we are aligned with our legacies.

These are questions that I’ve explored in my own professional career and have helped my clients with through my coaching sessions:

For example, are you truly having the work life balance or integration where you get to spend time with loved ones? (ie. I hope you are not having lunch with your laptop everyday!)

Are your colleagues respecting you as a woman of color or person of color? They respect your identity and intersectionality.

Are you really aligned, and happy with your current job and industry? Or is there something else you are looking for? And you are at this job because it’s what your family and society has told you to do.

Are you feeling confident that you are in the right career path or do you feel like you need to explore career transitions? At 28, I went from making $72k at an industry I didn’t love to my first 6-figure job at a completely different industry.

Do you feel like you have high potential but there is no personal growth happening at your current job? You know there is no “next step” and you are feeling stuck.

Is it time for you to find that one, true dream job? Or to get a job at an executive level where you continue to gain career development?

Who is Elaine Lou?

Elaine Lou is a business and coaching for professional women of any color who want to get into alignment with their career and change their legacy — for more than just themselves. I believe in creating the life you want, as opposed to the life your family told you was safe and secure.
